A Japanese national identified as FS, aged 74, was found dead in an apartment located on Jalan Hang Tuah Number 49, Denpasar, Bali. The discovery was made on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, at around 10:00 WITA.

“We found the body of a man at the hotel,” said Head of BPBD Denpasar Ida Bagus Joni Ariwibawa when contacted by detikBali, Tuesday (16/9/2025).

According to information from the hotel staff responsible for security in the building, FS had been living in the apartment for approximately one year. During his stay, he was known to be in poor health and had frequently been admitted to hospitals.

“He has been here for a year. In his apartment,” said the hotel guard who did not want to be named.

Evacuation to Hospital

Police officials confirmed that FS’s body was evacuated to RSUP Prof Ngoerah a few hours after being found. Denpasar Police representative Joni stated that the evacuation was carried out shortly after the discovery. However, he declined to provide further details regarding the cause of death, noting that information about the exact circumstances remains unavailable at this time.

“That’s the domain of the authorities. We only deliver the bodies to the hospital,” said Joni.

Living Conditions and Family Presence

Although FS lived alone in the apartment, hotel staff explained that he was not entirely without family support. Members of his family are also residing in Bali, in a home located not far from the apartment where FS stayed.

The staff further explained that FS’s health condition had been deteriorating for some time. His frequent hospital visits were well known to those in the vicinity of the apartment. This background has led to the understanding among local staff that his passing may be related to ongoing medical issues, though no official cause has been confirmed.

“His family lives near here. He was indeed sick. Often go in and out of the hospital,” he said.
