A man was killed and another injured after a violent altercation broke out during a cockfighting event in Songan A village, Kintamani district, Bangli regency, Bali, on Saturday, 14 June.

The incident occurred around 17.00 WITA, according to Bangli Police spokesperson AKP Wayan Sarta, and was reportedly triggered by a dispute between the victim and the suspected attacker during the event.

The deceased has been identified as a 37-year-old resident of Songan A who was reportedly the person in charge of organizing the cockfighting event. He was taken to Bangli General Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

The suspect, identified as a resident of Songan B, also sustained injuries. He initially received treatment at BMC Hospital in Bangli before being transferred to Prof Ngoerah Hospital in Denpasar for further medical care.
