A new cultural landmark modeled on Balinese traditions has officially opened in Poland, signaling a deepening of ties between Indonesia and the Central European nation.

The Bali Indah Cultural Park, located in Strzelinko, near the city of Słupsk, was inaugurated on 16 June 2025 and is being described as the largest Balinese cultural park in Europe.

The site currently spans 3 hectares, with plans to expand to 15 hectares.

The official opening featured traditional Balinese performances by artists flown in from Indonesia. Visitors were treated to live dance and music presentations that highlighted the island’s distinctive cultural heritage.

Symbol of Diplomatic Ties

According to Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the park stands as a symbol of “strong diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Poland across multiple sectors, including culture.”

Acep Somantri, an expert staff member at the ministry, emphasized that the initiative demonstrates Indonesia’s presence in Poland and noted the long-standing history between the two nations.

Indonesia and Poland established diplomatic relations in 1955. In celebration of 70 years of ties this year, both governments have engaged in a series of activities, including the launch of the cultural park and a business forum intended to bolster trade and investment.

The Foreign Ministry has indicated that future cooperation between the two countries will include expanded initiatives in student exchange programs and tourism development, further reinforcing the cultural ties underpinning the relationship.
