Indonesia’s Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo has lauded the ongoing construction of a world-class racket sports complex in Benoa, South Kuta, Bali, calling it a major step forward for the country’s sporting infrastructure and international appeal.

“We are very happy because Bali will soon have a world-class tennis venue,” Dito said on Tuesday during a site visit, which coincided with his attendance at the 2025 Asian Fencing Championships.

The facility, being developed by private investors, is designed as an international-standard racket sports hub. It will include tennis courts, padel courts, and pickleball arenas—each equipped with stadium seating to host major global tournaments.

“A super complex for racket sports, you could say,” Dito remarked. “This will be a major draw for Bali on the world stage, especially as it’s integrated with a neighboring hotel.”

Plans for future expansion

Beyond racket sports, the complex is expected to expand further with the planned addition of a golf course, positioning it as one of Southeast Asia’s most comprehensive sport tourism destinations.

“This is a point of pride for Indonesia. We in government deeply appreciate the private sector’s commitment to building a venue of this caliber,” said Dito.

The minister also expressed hope that this type of public-private partnership could serve as a model for developing sports facilities across Indonesia—both to nurture local athletic talent and to strengthen the country’s ability to host international sporting events.
