Bali Gapura Marina Dock B at the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub in Benoa, Denpasar, officially began operations on Wednesday, 27 November 2025. The facility is positioned to support an increase in foreign tourist arrivals to Bali by enabling improved access for international leisure vessels.
The marina development is a collaboration between PT Pelabuhan Indonesia Persero and Marina Development Indonesia. According to information released by the operators, the facility marks the first international standard marina in Indonesia.
“Bali Gapura Marina not just an infrastructure project, but a joint commitment to open up new opportunities, and improve the standard of Indonesia’s premium maritime tourism services,” said Suriawan, Friday (28/11/2025)
Built to Meet Global Port and Security Standards
The technology used throughout Bali Gapura Marina complies with international dock specifications and the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code. These standards govern port facility security systems for international maritime operations and ensure consistent procedures for vessel and passenger safety.
Dock B functions as one of five docks included in the initial phase of the marina’s development. Its completion follows the groundbreaking for Bali Gapura Marina, held in September 2025.
Technical Capacity of Dock B
Dock B consists of eleven pontoon modules extending up to 192 meters. The structure is engineered to withstand a minimum load capacity of 500 kilograms per square meter. The dock can accommodate up to 48 yards, providing expanded berthing capacity for visiting vessels.
“The presence of Bali Gapura Marina is expected to be a spark for the birth of other premium marinas in Indonesia,” he said.
The operators noted that the opening of Dock B marks a significant milestone in establishing a world-class maritime tourism hub in Indonesia. The broader initiative aims to combine sustainable development principles with advanced naval engineering.
Following Development Stages Planned for 2026
The marina is being developed in stages. Following the launch of Dock B, construction will proceed with Dock C and Dock D, which are scheduled for development in the early second quarter of 2026. These additions are intended to expand operational capacity and support the long-term plan for a fully integrated maritime tourism complex.
Future Facilities and Supporting Infrastructure
When fully completed, Bali Gapura Marina will include a yacht club and service station. Commercial facilities and premium entertainment venues will also support the complex. These additions are designed to enhance the overall function of the tourism hub and strengthen Bali’s maritime infrastructure.
