Apple has officially opened its fourth Apple Developer Academy in Indonesia, launching a new campus in Tuban, Bali, that will welcome more than 100 students in its inaugural class.

The expansion is part of Apple’s broader effort to support developers, students, and entrepreneurs in gaining skills to thrive in Indonesia’s rapidly growing iOS app industry. Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of worldwide developer relations, emphasized the academy’s role in fostering innovation.

“Coding is a great way to gain global recognition, and the Apple Developer Academy will help more people in Indonesia bring their ideas to life,” Prescott said in a statement from Jakarta on Tuesday.

The nine-month program will equip students with fundamental coding skills, design principles, marketing strategies, and insights into artificial intelligence. Participants in the Bali academy’s first cohort come from diverse backgrounds, ranging in age from 18 to 56, and represent 32 cities across Indonesia. Many of them are based in Bali.

An International Learning Hub

In a first for Apple’s developer academies in Indonesia, the Bali campus will also host international students from 11 countries, aiming to foster cross-cultural collaboration within the program.

“Indonesia’s developer community has already created many outstanding applications, and we are eager to welcome these students and help even more aspiring developers enhance their skills, build businesses, and make a positive impact in their communities,” Prescott said.

Apple first launched its Developer Academy in Indonesia in 2018 in BSD, Tangerang Selatan, followed by additional campuses in Surabaya and Batam.

More than 2,500 aspiring developers have completed the program, with Apple reporting that 90 percent of graduates have secured jobs across various sectors, including education, e-commerce, transportation, and sustainability.
