A 700-square-meter warehouse in Padonan, Canggu, is set to become Bali’s largest community library, thanks to a bold initiative by local artist Rizz.

The painter, sculptor, and ceramist announced the project on social media, calling for book donations to fill the space.

“I want to transform this unused warehouse into the biggest library in Bali for the community,” Rizz wrote.

Rizz is calling on the community to help fill the future library’s shelves, welcoming donations of books across a wide range of genres, from novels and biographies to art, history, architecture, and philosophy.

He’s also offering a trade—anyone who donates five or ten books can receive a print of his painting in return. For those looking to sell their books instead, he’s willing to buy them as well.

The project, dubbed @rizzbibliotheca, invites book contributions from the public, with assistance inquiries directed to Rizz’s team.

An Artist’s Vision Turned Public Space

Rizz, whose works have been exhibited across Europe and Indonesia, is known for his figurative paintings that blend nostalgia, satire, and personal storytelling. His sculptures bring elements of his paintings into three-dimensional form, reflecting his creative instincts.

By repurposing an industrial space into a literary hub, Rizz aims to foster knowledge-sharing and artistic exchange within the local community.

The initiative marks a departure from his usual medium but aligns with his broader vision of challenging traditional formats and repurposing spaces for cultural engagement.

For those interested in donating, further details can be obtained through his assistant, @blue.nuke, at +62 857 7777 0850.
