Indonesian immigration authorities have deported a Chinese national identified by the initials WY, 27, from Bali to Guangzhou, China, after confirming that the individual was listed as a wanted person by authorities in China’s Guangdong Province.
The deportation was carried out on Monday, February 2, 2026, with WY departing from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali on a flight bound for Guangzhou. The repatriation was conducted under tight supervision by a joint team from the Directorate General of Immigration, the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, and the Denpasar Immigration Detention House.
“WY is a fugitive DPO of the Guangdong Provincial Security Bureau who is wanted for the crime of sneaking into other people’s property and persecution in China,” said Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman, Tuesday (3/2/2026).
Detention and Immigration Status
WY had been held at the Denpasar Immigration Detention House since December 24, 2025. Immigration officials confirmed that the detention followed the individual’s lack of a valid residence permit in Indonesia.
Prior to arriving in Bali, WY was refused entry by immigration authorities in Abu Dhabi on December 2, 2025. The refusal was based on immigration considerations. Upon arrival in Indonesia, WY did not have lawful permission to remain, prompting immigration officers to take administrative action in accordance with national regulations.
“We affirm that Indonesia is not a fugitive escape place and in accordance with Article 75 paragraph (3) of Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning immigration, we have full authority to deport foreigners who try to avoid threats and execution of punishment in their home countries,” he concluded.
Coordination With Chinese Authorities
Indonesian authorities confirmed that the deportation followed coordination with the government of China. Chinese officials requested support from Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration to assist with the repatriation process, as WY was listed as a fugitive in Guangdong Province in connection with an assault case.
The deportation process was handled strictly within the framework of immigration enforcement. Indonesian officials stated that their involvement was limited to administrative immigration measures and international cooperation, without addressing the criminal allegations themselves.
Application of Selective Immigration Policy
An immigration official, Yuldi, explained that the action taken against WY reflected Indonesia’s selective immigration policy. Under this policy, foreign nationals may be denied entry or removed from the country if they do not meet immigration requirements or are deemed ineligible to remain based on applicable regulations.
Current Status
With the completion of the deportation, WY is no longer under the supervision of Indonesian immigration authorities. The individual has been returned to Guangzhou, China, concluding Indonesia’s administrative handling of the case.
