“We investigated through the Instagram account that uploaded the video and apprehended the suspect, identified as SH. The suspect has confessed to his actions. Evidence has been secured at the Kuta Police Station for further investigation,” stated Kuta Police Chief AKP I Ketut Agus Pasek Sudina on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

Chief Agus Pasek explained that the vandalism took place in the vicinity of Legian Beach, directly in front of the Pullman Legian Hotel. The video was first circulated via WhatsApp before being uploaded to Instagram. The police traced the upload to an account named @pantailegian and identified the uploader as SANAW. Through this account, they discovered the suspect resided in Sesetan, South Denpasar District.

“The suspect and his two companions were brought to the Kuta Police Station for questioning. The suspect, SH, is 16 years old. His actions were recorded by his friend and shared as a WhatsApp status, which subsequently went viral on social media,” explained Agus Pasek.
