Residents of Jimbaran, South Kuta, Badung, were shocked by the discovery of a foreign national’s naked body inside a water tank on the fourth floor of a boarding house on Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai on Tuesday, 4 March 2025.

Initial Discovery

The boarding house owner initially thought the body was a doll. According to Denpasar Police spokesperson AKP I Ketut Sukadi, the incident came to light when the owner noticed that water was not flowing from the taps.

To investigate, the owner contacted a water tank technician, identified as Ketut. Upon inspecting the tank, Ketut also believed he had found a doll inside. However, upon closer examination, he realized it was a human body.

“After checking again, it was confirmed to be a human corpse, and the technician immediately informed the homeowner,” said Sukadi.

Evacuation and Investigation

Following the report, officers from Basarnas and Denpasar Police’s Inafis team conducted an evacuation and forensic examination at the scene.

Authorities found the victim with multiple abrasions, including on the knees, chest, and waist. Additionally, there was fluid discharge from the genital area and foam in the mouth.

Police secured evidence, including the victim’s clothing and an automatic valve from the water tank.

Witness Accounts

Several boarding house residents provided statements about suspicious activity before the discovery.

One witness, FK (29), reported seeing someone pacing outside a room the night before. Another witness, NT (49), recalled hearing screams and spotting unidentified footprints on the balcony.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is ongoing.
