An Indian tourist became the victim of a mugging on Jalan Baru Belig, North Kuta, Badung, Bali. The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at approximately 9:20 p.m. WITA. The case gained widespread attention after footage of the incident circulated on social media, prompting police to begin an investigation.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim was visiting a local spa with a companion shortly before the incident. While the victim was examining a massage brochure, an unidentified man on a motorcycle approached and forcefully snatched the victim’s bag before fleeing the scene.

“We received a report through Instagram social media and immediately went to the crime scene. We have carried out pulbaket (collecting information),” said Kompol Sudina to reporters, Saturday (8/11).

Suspect Seen Circling the Area

Witnesses reported that the suspect had been seen riding his motorcycle repeatedly around the area prior to the mugging. His behavior led some to believe he was a ride-hailing driver waiting for a passenger. Moments later, the individual allegedly targeted the tourist and escaped at high speed.

Police have taken statements from two witnesses, identified as Pachira Spa employees Vino (23) and Ike S. Padang (28). Both reported that the suspect had been near the location for several minutes before the robbery occurred.

Loss Estimated at Four Million Rupiah

The victim, whose identity has not yet been made public, reportedly lost items valued at around four million rupiah. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the contents of the stolen bag.

Based on initial observations, the suspect is believed to be an Indonesian male. Investigators are working to verify this description through available evidence and witness statements.

“We check the CCTV to confirm the vehicle plate or for the disclosure of the perpetrator,” he added.

Police Continue Tracing the Suspect

The North Kuta Police have begun reviewing security camera footage from nearby businesses and coordinating with local patrol teams to track the suspect’s route. Investigators are also collecting additional information from the scene to strengthen the case.

Authorities confirmed that the investigation remains active. The identity of the perpetrator has not yet been established, and police are focusing on gathering evidence that could lead to an arrest.

Ongoing Investigation

As of the latest update, the suspect remains at large. The victim’s identity has not been officially released, and no further developments have been announced. Police continue to pursue leads to determine the suspect’s identity and motive behind the mugging.

The North Kuta Police stated that additional information will be provided once new findings emerge from the ongoing investigation.
