Low-cost airline AirAsia has announced a new flight service between Darwin, Australia, and Denpasar, Bali, set to begin on 22 March 2025.
The new route, which will operate three times a week, marks a significant expansion of AirAsia’s offerings between Australia and Indonesia, two nations with strong tourism ties.
New Route to Enhance Travel Options
The service will feature fares starting at AUD 189 for one-way travel. Passengers from Darwin can also access connections to destinations such as Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Hong Kong, and Komodo Island, with fares under AUD 300.
Veranita Josephine, CEO of Indonesia AirAsia, emphasized Bali’s pivotal role as a hub for the airline.
“Bali is now our largest hub in terms of flight capacity, driven by strong demand. These direct flights will cater to the enduring popularity of Bali as a destination for Australians and offer great low-fare connections to over 130 destinations across the AirAsia Group network,” Josephine said.
Josephine added that the service is not only an opportunity for Australian travelers to visit Bali but also a chance to welcome visitors from across Asia to experience Australia’s Northern Territory’s unique attractions, including Kakadu National Park and Arnhem Land.
The route will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Outbound flights from Denpasar (QZ 540) will depart at 11:40 a.m., arriving in Darwin at 3:55 p.m. Inbound flights (QZ 541) will leave Darwin at 4:35 p.m. and land in Bali at 5:55 p.m.
