Three British nationals were arrested after being caught smuggling cocaine through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Badung, Bali.

The suspects include a couple, Lisa Ellen Stocker (39) and Jonathan Christopher Collyer (37), along with Phineas Ambrose Float (31).

Previous Smuggling Attempts

According to authorities, the trio had successfully smuggled cocaine into Bali on two previous occasions before being caught on their third attempt.

“This is the third time,” said AKBP Ponco Indriyo, Deputy Director of the Bali Police Narcotics Unit, during a press conference in Denpasar on Friday (7 February 2024).

Arrest and Media Appearance

The three suspects were paraded in front of the media at the Bali Police Narcotics Directorate’s parking lot, wearing orange prison jumpsuits and handcuffed.

Despite the circumstances, they appeared to chat casually, even laughing at times.

When escorted to their detention cells, they walked leisurely and smiled at reporters.

Jonathan Christopher even sang “Gucci Gang,” a hit song by American rapper Lil Pump.

Discovery of Cocaine

The bust began after customs officers became suspicious of the luggage of Stocker and Collyer, who arrived at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Saturday (1 February 2025) at approximately 20:00 WITA.

Upon inspection, authorities discovered the cocaine hidden in food packaging inside their suitcase. The couple had traveled from the UK to Doha (Qatar) before landing in Bali, successfully evading detection during their journey.

Following the arrest of Stocker and Collyer, Phineas Ambrose was apprehended on Monday (3 February 2025) for his role in receiving the cocaine in Bali.

“They brought and smuggled the drugs. They planned to distribute them in Bali,” Ponco explained.

Charges and Penalties

The three suspects have been charged under Article 113, paragraph 2, of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
