Two foreign nationals were arrested in Badung, Bali, following allegations of possessing and distributing narcotics, including cocaine and liquid cannabis. The suspects were identified as Quentin (35) a French national, and his housemate, Kevin Lamont Reeves (62) a United States citizen.

Police detained both men after a series of events that unfolded during a security operation in North Kuta on Friday, 28 November 2025.

According to Badung Police Chief AKBP Arief Batubara, officers were conducting security measures for a ministerial visit when they noticed Quentin standing by the roadside in a manner they considered suspicious. When officers attempted to approach him, he fled, driving recklessly and without a helmet or license plate.

Police Pursuit and Initial Discovery

The chase ended on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong in Canggu, where officers apprehended Quentin. Police reported that the suspect resisted arrest by punching and kicking officers before being subdued. Following his arrest, officers searched and found several types of narcotics in his possession.

“The QAAS perpetrator had kicked one of our members, namely Panit Restrim, North Chairman of the Police. And then it was successfully secured with this decisive action. Still trying to escape and even resist so that it triggers traffic jams and even the attention of residents,” said Arief.

Authorities stated that the items confiscated included four vape pods containing 85.36 grams of liquid cannabis, a glass bottle with 11.70 grams of liquid cannabis, a package of cocaine weighing 5.17 grams, and a packet of marijuana weighing 7.57 grams.

Search at Villa Uncovers Additional Evidence

Following the arrest, police expanded the investigation to the suspects’ residence at The Jineng Villa in Cemagi, Mengwi. The villa is located not far from where the initial arrest took place. At the property, officers detained Kevin and seized an additional 0.87 grams of THC-based liquid cannabis.

“If the explanation is from the chronology, then Quentin is a distributor. Meanwhile, Kevin is an assistant,” said Arief.

Based on statements gathered during questioning, police allege that Quentin played the role of distributor while Kevin acted as both a user and an assistant in distributing the narcotics. AKBP Arief Batubara also stated that Quentin admitted to obtaining the illegal substances from an unidentified female foreign national approximately ten months prior.

“Information from the perpetrator from the initial investigation results, the perpetrator admitted to getting all the narcotics from a woman he did not know in the Canggu area, only met once about ten months ago,” Arief said during a press conference at the Badung Police Headquarters, on Monday (1/12/2025).

“The woman gave all the narcotics because she was going abroad,” he continued.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Authorities confirmed that both men have been charged under Article 112, paragraph 1, and Article 111 of Indonesia’s Narcotics Law Number 35 of 2009. The charges carry a maximum prison sentence of up to 20 years.

Police have not disclosed further details about the unidentified foreign woman who allegedly supplied the narcotics. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to review the suspects’ activities and potential links to other individuals.
