The crowded street provided ample witnesses, ensuring the situation did not escalate further.

Incident Breakdown

Mikhail Kabulov, the Russian national involved, first attempted to flag down a passing vehicle. When the driver refused to stop, Kabulov targeted an online taxi following behind. Unaware of the imminent threat, the driver allowed Kabulov to board. Once inside, Kabulov revealed a knife and attempted to seize control of the vehicle.

Driver’s Immediate Response

The driver acted swiftly and effectively. Exiting the vehicle without hesitation, he immediately alerted nearby residents by shouting for help. His quick thinking ensured his safety and drew immediate attention to the unfolding situation.

Local Residents’ Intervention

Kabulov, wearing knee-length shorts and a purple jacket, was restrained with his hands and feet bound. The incident caused a temporary traffic disruption on Jalan Raya Bedulu due to the gathered crowd and slowed vehicles.

The knife used in the attempted hijacking was recovered and secured as evidence. Kabulov was taken into custody and transported to Gianyar Police Station for further investigation.

Final Thoughts

This incident underscores the critical role of community vigilance and prompt action in maintaining public safety.
