The Bali Regional Office of Immigration has carried out patrols in several areas of the island, including Canggu, as part of its ongoing efforts to monitor foreign nationals’ compliance with immigration regulations. The operation focused on verifying whether individuals’ activities align with the terms of their stay permits.

According to information shared through the official Immigration Bali Instagram account, officers were deployed to conduct random checks in areas with high concentrations of foreign visitors. During these patrols, officials verified the identities of individuals encountered and ensured that their activities were consistent with the purpose of their stay in Indonesia.

Random Checks to Ensure Compliance

Authorities explained that such inspections are conducted periodically to prevent misuse of visit or stay permits, particularly in areas known for tourism, remote work, or business activities. The checks are designed to identify potential violations, such as working without appropriate permits or engaging in activities beyond the scope of a visa.

Areas Targeted Include Canggu

Canggu, one of Bali’s most popular destinations for both long-term visitors and digital nomads, was among the key areas visited by officers during the patrol. The area has garnered increasing attention from immigration authorities due to its growing expatriate community and the diverse range of activities undertaken by foreign nationals.

Identity Verification and Documentation

Immigration officials emphasized that the process was conducted professionally and respectfully. Officers requested identity documents, such as passports and stay permits, to confirm that the information matched official records.

The checks are part of a broader monitoring initiative intended to uphold transparency and accountability among Bali’s foreign resident and visitor population. Authorities have noted that verification of stay permits is essential for maintaining immigration integrity and preventing irregularities that could undermine local regulations.

Continued Monitoring Efforts

The Bali Immigration Office stated that such operations would continue as part of regular oversight measures. Future patrols are expected to cover other tourist hubs and residential areas across the island, ensuring consistent enforcement of immigration rules.

The office encouraged all foreign nationals to carry valid identification and comply with their visa conditions at all times. Officials also reminded residents and business owners to cooperate during inspections and to report any suspected immigration violations to the nearest immigration office.

As of now, no further details have been released regarding the number of individuals checked or any violations discovered during the latest patrol. The Bali Immigration Office confirmed that monitoring activities will remain ongoing as part of its standard operational procedures.
