Authorities in Bali have deported two Chinese nationals found illegally working as diving instructors in Karangasem Regency.

The individuals were removed from Indonesia following an investigation by Singaraja Immigration Office.

The case was uncovered when immigration officers were conducting outreach on the foreign national reporting application (APOA) at hotels in Karangasem. During the visit, officers noticed suspicious activity involving a group of tourists who had just completed a diving session.

An initial inspection of the two foreigners’ immigration documents raised concerns about possible visa misuse.

“Our team summoned the individuals for further questioning at the Singaraja Immigration Office,” Singaraja Immigration Chief Hendra Setiawan said on Tuesday.

Both individuals had entered Indonesia on visit stay permits (ITK), which do not allow employment.

Authorities determined that their activities violated immigration laws, leading to their deportation and blacklisting.

They were flown out via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on China Southern Airlines flights bound for Wenzhou and Beijing.

“This action reflects our firm commitment to enforcing immigration regulations. We urge the public to report any suspicious foreigner activities to our hotline at 0813-5390-9733,” Hendra said.
