CCTV Footage Sparks Investigation of Violence Toward Indonesian Woman by Saudi National

CCTV footage capturing a violent assault on an Indonesian woman by a Saudi national has prompted an investigation by police in Bali, as concerns grow over delayed action in the case.

The incident occurred on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2024, at Villa Delgado, located on Jalan Gunung Athena, Padang Sambian Kelod, West Denpasar.

The victim, identified as RR, 29, suffered severe physical abuse following the incident.

CCTV Recording

Although details of the altercations are yet to be confirmed as authorities’ investigation is ongoing, the CCTV footage shows RR being kicked, hit, shouted at, and dragged by the hair by her boyfriend.

A report has been filed with the West Denpasar Police which includes the CCTV footage and a medical report. However, as the suspect is at large.

West Denpasar Police Chief Commissioner Laksmi Trisnadewi declined to comment, referring inquiries to the Denpasar City Police Public Relations Department.

“We are still coordinating further details,” said AKP I Ketut Sukadi, the spokesperson for Denpasar Police.

According to authorities, investigation remains ongoing.
