A Slovenian tourist became the victim of theft while dining at a local food stall in South Denpasar on the afternoon of 3 May 2025.

The incident occurred at Warung Muslim Bondowoso, located on Jalan Mertasari II in Sidakarya Village.

According to police, the victim, 35-year-old Kamin Natalija, was eating with a friend when her sling bag was stolen.

South Denpasar Police Chief AKP Agus Adi Pariyoga confirmed the report on Saturday evening.

“Yes, the victim was having a meal with a companion and had placed her bag on the chair to her right. When she went to pay for the food, the bag was no longer there,” said AKP Pariyoga.

Preliminary findings and witness accounts suggest the suspect was a man seen loitering near the warung on a motorcycle. Police believe he took advantage of the victim’s momentary inattention to snatch the bag.

Following the report, the South Denpasar Police’s mobile unit quickly initiated a trace on the victim’s phone, which was connected to her laptop. The bag was later found abandoned on Jalan Taman Pancing Timur in Pemogan, South Denpasar.

“Items such as the phone, card wallet, and sling bag were recovered. However, Rp600.000 in cash was missing,” AKP Pariyoga said.

He added that the investigation is ongoing to identify and locate the perpetrator.

“We urge tourists and the general public to remain vigilant about their personal belongings when in public spaces. We continue to maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone,” he said.

The case remains under investigation by the South Denpasar Police.
